The Abode of Clouds- Meghalaya

Day 56 – a restart of our Pedal the Himalaya Tour in Meghalaya, India – after a troubling break in Delhi, drowning in pollution which impacted our health tremendously. We struggled to get our legs and lungs firing today, our bodies and minds tired by the stress of the chaotic city. The exit from Guwahati towards Umiam Lake, short of Shillong was equally crowded for the first 15 kms but settled down later. However cycling on a national highway is not a great experience and we were forced to stop at a point ahead of Umiam Lake as we could not go further due to the heavy traffic. A kind gentleman who owned a restaurant offered to drop us to Umiam lake in the descending darkness.
