Ride to Dhyari Village

Day 89 we rode for 33 kms till Dhyari villagefrom Jageshwar towards Ghat Bend at the riverbanks of the river Ramgar. However the narrow road, though descending, had many curves and sheer drops with no barricades at some point so we cycled at moderate speed. We reached Dhyari village in the early afternoon and requested a grocery owner, Pratap Singh, to let out a spare room that we had learned he had. He kindly obliged. Pratap was over 70 years old and had served with the KVMN ( Kumaon Vikas Mangal Nigam) for many years. It was a small room with a bed but we managed to squeeze in our bicycles as well. Before that many school children were trudging home on the village path and their laughter and curiosity about the cycles was amusing, as it always is!

As long as we have water we can stay any place or camp but without water it’s just not possible. We often use our small immersion rod to boil water for coffee, noodles, eggs and oats and it’s a very handy travel accessory along with the regular fuel stove.
