Golden Brown valley and a glorious sunset

Meghalaya continued to astound with its astonishing natural beauty and the richness of its indigenous life, simple, hard but seemingly filled with a contentment. Someone scoffed at me when I said I am following my bliss when he asked me why I was pursuing this grand mad adventure cycling through the Himalaya. For Ashim and me this the most pristine path to finding our bliss and in the northeast we have definitely found it, and Meghalaya is truly living it. On our 42 km ride to Mawkyrwat was rugged, raw and utterly beautiful. Much of the ride was through a back country road, mostly gravel but past villages that seem stuck in time save the odd mobile tower jutting out like a thorn, a child of necessity. It was dark when we reached our destination, cycling through the darkness for over an hour.
