It is often said that a book has the ability to take the readers to exotic locales just by sitting in one place. 'Grit Gravel and gear' is one such read. The author is vivid in his descriptions as he goes on to describe the history and culture of every place.

The book makes you stop and think about how little we truly need to live, mull and agonise over the ancient civilisations we could have saved, and ruminate over what education should truly teach us and what happiness truly means. It makes you want to make changes in your life.

What better way to recommend this book than sharing with you that on reaching the 17th page of the book, I called my partner in crime and cyclist friend Anupam, to “tell him” that we are doing a 12 day bike tour and it was immediately written in stone.

I just finished reading a gem of a book, highly recommended for those bitten by the travel bug

Away by Dhruv Bogra is a must read book. It chronicles his soujorns on a bicycle in Himalayas, and parts of Alaska. Self help books are not the answer to be inspired , but such books that recount strife, guts, and glory should be read for propelling oneself.

Being an enthusiast and an inquest person,
This book actually answered mostly all of my questions.
One must add to library book.
About The Author
I am an expeditionary cyclist, writer, amateur nature and adventure photographer, motivation speaker and transformation coach. I have cycled over 50,000 kms in the last decade, of which more than 20,000 kms are on a bicycle tour. I am also a business leader with 35 years experience in the corporate sector in India. My first book, ‘Grit, Gravel and Gear’ chronicles the 400-day solo bicycling journey from the Arctic to the Andes in 2016–17. It was among the top 100 titles in Crossword bookstores in 2019 and secured many good reviews from leading dailies and publications. ‘Away’ is my second book, in which I share thrilling accounts of bicycle expeditions undertaken by me in the Indian Himalaya.
